The Sechrist 2500B series chambers have been the "workhorse" chambers of the clinical hyperbaric medical community in the United States since their introduction in the last 1970s. Total production of these units is well over 600.

The Sechrist 2500B chambers are lay-down style chambers designed to operate with a 100% oxygen environment. The inside diameter of the pressure window is 25 inches (63.5 cm). The 2500B model is called a "standard panel" version with the control panel on the left side as one stands facing the door. The 2500BR model is called a "reverse panel" version with the control panel on the right side as one stands facing the door. When a 2500B and a 2500BR are used together, the control panels face each other enabling one operator to more easily operate both chambers.

Utilities requirements:

Oxygen: 50-70 psig (3.4 to 4.7 bar), 8.5 to 15 scfm (240 to 400 slpm) continuous ventilation flow when in operation Up to 8.5 scfm (250 slpm) additional flow required during pressurization.

Electrical: Normal utility outlet power.

Options Available:

Air break kits: Permit short term air breathing while the chamber is flooded with 100% oxygen Patient call assemblies

Air ventilation packages: Permits the chamber to be ventilated with air instead of oxygen with oxygen required only for breathing purposes. Reduces the average oxygen consumption by about 75%
